2022 Primary Elections Calendar
The 2022 midterms begin with a Summer primary season. Find out when your state is holding its primary.
While Texas officially kicked off primary season back on March 1, May is when primary season really picks up steam. More than a dozen states will hold their primary elections next month (including Texas again, which will be holding runoffs for races where no candidate reached 50% of the vote.) Before diving in any further, I want to raise up some of the awesome work being done by The Democracy Group to safeguard American democracy.
Are you worried about our democracy in America? Democracy is in danger and needs your help now more than ever. That's why my friends at The Democracy Group have created a community and network of 16 podcasts united around the goal of helping listeners understand what's broken in our democracy, and how people are working together to fix it. For the month of May, my content will follow the path of the upcoming primaries:
Mondays will spotlight the week’s primaries with a special focus on highlighting candidates in uncontested races who will sail on through to the general election in November.
Thursdays will be devoted to reviewing election results and pulling out major takeaways for elections moving forward.
This also serves as your reminder to ensure you’re registered to vote! While the voting registration deadline has passed for nearly all of the states holding primaries in May, there’s still time to get registered for later primaries as well as the general election in November.
